I’m not too sure who was responsible for designing my apartment’s kitchen, but apparently they didn’t think I’d need drawers. The drawers are literally nailed shut! Needless to say, I’ve had to get creative with storage options over the years.
Most recently a light bulb had gone off in my head when I realized that an old candle jar I had been saving could be transformed into a utensil holder. Thanks to their sturdy build and stylish design, candle jars double as the perfect storage options. So think twice before you toss that burned out candle!
Here’s What I Did.
Step One: Remove the previous label to reveal the blank canvas. Don’t worry, we’ll decorate later.

Step Two: Fill the inside with hot water. This will soften the wax to make it easier to remove. Let sit for a few minutes. I recommend using a plastic butter knife to aid you.

Step Three: Wash very thoroughly with soap and water. Dry with paper towels.

Step Four: Decorate! I used these black rub- on adhesive letters from dollar tree.

…And for the final reveal…
