I never really need much of a reason to visit New York City. Any excuse to not be stuck at a desk for eight hours will do! So of course when my friend Kia, blogger over at thekikistylediary.com asked me accompany her to New York to capture #NYFW street style fashion for her blog, I happily obliged–cold weather and all.
10:15 a.m. – She Ready! π§πΎ
We departed from the Megabus stop in Philadelphia a little after 10 a.m. on a brisk Sunday morning. I find Megabus to be the most convenient and affordable way to travel to New York. Booking dates in advance can really be cost efficient. I came ready to take on the day with a sharp pair of shades, a comfy pair of sneakers and cold weather essentials (scarf and gloves).
12:25 p.m. – Riding in Style π
New York City, we made it! A quick photo-op before hopping on the 1 train to Canal Street ($3 fare, one way). I’m never this excited to take the train in Philly! I look good in New York!
12:47 p.m. – Gotta hit them angles π€³πΎ
A short train ride and a few steps later, we arrived outside of the venue for #NYFW shows. There we were greeted by a handful of photographers attempting snap the best pics of the most fashionable show attendees.
12:50 p.m. – These girls came to slayππΎββοΈ
Though we didn’t have tickets to any shows, I found that street style fashion is just as exciting as the fashions on the runway! Spotted some serious style from show-goers. Common trends included eye-catching furs and boots of varying lengths.
2:14 p.m. – Time to grub π½
After capturing lots of content for her blog, we decided it was time to eat. We headed to Cafeteria, my favorite eatery in NYC. I always tell myself that I should try something new but end up ordering the same dish; Chicken and Waffles. It never disappoints. So worth the wait and calories!
3:39 p.m. – Girls Just Wanna Have Fun ππΎ
After walking off our meals, we browsed the racks of Charlotte Russe–and took advantage of any photo-ops while at it! How cute is this neon pink staircase?
4:12 p.m. – Until next time, New York! π½
Last shot before our departure. I was sad to leave but I know I’ll be back!
