I was being bullied at work for my hair! Yes girl, they tried me but trust, God had a plan all along! He used a situation at work that was meant to destroy me and turned it around for my good! For the longest time, I couldn’t figure out how I would share it, if it was even worth it. Then I was recently contacted by Tathianna, founder of the women’s online ministry, InnateMuse.com, to submit a guest blog post. Their tagline is, “No story is purposeless!” I knew then that this was the perfect platform! Head over to InnateMuse.com to read my story. And be encouraged that no matter what you’re going through, that God can turn it all around for your good, just like He did for me!
– A Black Girl About Town

This was an awesome read! I’m glad everything worked out for you. Prayer is a powerful thing.
Thank you! And yes, we can never underestimate the power of prayer ๐
Its amazing how natural black peoples hair can be ridiculed. I find that ridiculous. Your hair is beautiful!
Thank you! Yes, it’s crazy! And sad!
great read, i know hoe you feel i was shamed for my very big puff at my last job, and it doesn’t feel good. It’s just unfortunate that we have to feel this way in the workplace..smdh
Thanks girl! Smh. It is a terrible feeling! Especially when you have a slightly balding man telling you that your hair is no good, in my case. He was the last person that should be speaking about hair!! LOL
he sure the hell is, he should have asked you for some of yours…lol. but they dont understand us or our hair so it makes them uncomfortable. my goal in life is to continue to make them uncomfortable..lol
I know that’s the heck right! Girllll after that I was swinging my hair left and right just because I knew it got under their skin! ๐๐
yasssssssssssss I love it
Loved this. As you said God does indeed have a plan for all of us. Happy to hear you were able to take that negative situation and turn it into a positive one. I used to feel very discouraged about wearing my natural hair out because i would feel as though i was being judged, which is so silly now looking back!
THANK YOU! There are far more important things to worry about in the workplace other than hair. As far as I’m concerned, if it’s not a hindrance to your work performance than there should be no fuss.
This is an amazing post! I took a lot from it! It is funny how a person can use a black woman’s strength, like our hair, to judge and bully us.
I wrote a blog pose about ‘The Politics of Black Hair’ which I think you’d find interesting! Here’s the link if you’d like to read it! God Bless!

Thank you so much for reading! It’s really a shame but I tried my hardest to stand my ground! Positive responses like yours lets me know I did the right thing. I will definitely read your post. โค God Bless.
