Though it may not feel like it outside, it is officially fall! What better way to bring in the new season than with a fashion show?
I was pleased to attend Macy’s annual fall fashion show, yesterday in downtown Philadelphia. Models sported the season’s hottest trends from some of our favorite designers like Michael Kors and Vince Camuto. In addition, we got a chance to preview the spring 2017 collections from the 2016 in-house residents.
This event was free to the public, however, registration was required. It filled up pretty fast so it’s a good idea to show up early. I was thisss close to not getting a seat but things worked in my favor. Not only did I get a seat, I couldn’t have had a better view, dead smack front row! Look at God!
There were lots of trends predicted for fall 2016 that were displayed throughout the show. We saw shades of red including burgundy and violet and hints of suede particularly in hand bags and over the knee boots. There was a heavy inspiration from the 60’s with flared pants, paisley tops, and geometric print dresses. Leather, which tends to be a fall fashion staple was also present in various moto jackets. We also saw some very nautical/patriotic looks with heavy uses of navy and splashes of red.
Next up was the 2017 spring collections from the 2016 in-house residents: Charlie Girl, Milano de Rouge, Conrad Booker and Nigel Richards.
Special Guest Mah-Jing Wong, Project Runway season 15 contestant.
After the show concluded, we were invited upstairs to shop the looks from the show, nibble on hors d’oeuvres and mingle with the designers. Here’s my gift bag, perks of being front row royalty 😉 👑
Hope you enjoyed this post! What fall fashion trends are you eager to try?
