Black Issues Things to Do Travel

Mexico|Day 2

Hello Again,

Before I get into the details of my trip to Mexico, I just wanted to share a few thoughts on what’s been going on lately. Whether you are for Black Lives Matter, All Lives Matter, Blue, Green or Yellow Lives Matter, we can all agree that life matters, Period! These senseless killings are wrong!

The police officers that were killed in the Dallas protest didn’t deserve the fate that came upon them but neither did the two black men that were slain at the hands of law enforcement! You cannot condem one without condemning the other! The deaths of those officers were a direct result of the lack of concern and justice for our slain black men, women and children at the hands of law enforcement. It stems from years of frustration at a system that has failed us time and time again and of a society that is captivated by our culture and entertainment. We are truly the most loved and most hated beings at a given time!

Ultimately, God has the final say. Only He sits in the seat of judgement. Justice may never be served in the way that we wish or in the time frame that we wish. But you can be sure that God knows all, sees all and is on the side of the righteous. We will talk more on this topic as new developments arise. Thank you for bearing with me.

Mexico|Day 2

If you haven’t checked out my recap of my first day in Mexico, now would be a great time to do so! Otherwise, onto day two.

Because breakfast is the most important part of the day, I stocked up on a few of my faves and a few new things as well: sausage, scrambled eggs, fried plantains, chicken, pineapples and papaya, strawberry yogurt and freshly squeezed orange juice.

As a perk of staying at the Oh! Urban Oasis, we received exclusive access to their beach club. A shuttle transported us to and from the Grand Oasis Palm Resort where we had access to their pools and beach. For a small fee, we were able to buy an all-inclusive day pass for food and drinks. Can’t beat that! Of course I had to take a few flicks before our departure.

The resort is huge! No wonder why its called the Grand Oasis. We were provided with a map and still had trouble locating some of restaurants and bars. Nonetheless, it is beautiful and very much kid friendly.

Later that evening, we went back to the Crazy Hot Coyote for a show! We even made some friends along the way!

Hope you enjoyed this post! Day 3 is soon to come!
