Weekend Recap: NYC Ice Bar & “Quiet Clubbing” Review!!!

Hey Loves!

I could hardly wait to share the amazing festivities I took part in this past weekend. I stayed in New York City for a much needed mini-getaway/anniversary celebration.

Minus 5° Ice Bar

If you have a bucket list, visiting the Minus 5° Ice Bar is definitely something you may want to add to your adventures! The ice bar is located inside of the New York Hilton Midtown. Everything is made of ice; the bar, chairs, even the glasses.

Before entering the bar, the staff gives you a locker to place all of your belongings, including cell phones which are not permitted inside. Next, you suit up in jackets and gloves, also provided by the staff, and brace yourself for the cold.

The interior is a lot smaller than I expected. Ice carvings of various New York City landmarks line the walls while upbeat music plays in the background. A photographer was on site to capture every moment. I would suggest booking the Groupon Deal which includes admission for two, plus a 5×7 photograph as prices can get a little expensive.

Stage 48 Silent Headphone Party

I was a little skeptical about this silent headphone party but I’m glad I went. It was the most fun I’ve had in a long time. Apparently, quiet clubbing parties have been a thing for quite some time now. Here’s how it works. When you enter the venue, you’re given a pair of headphones, programmed with three different stations. Each station is color coded by genre:

Blue= Hip Hop & EDM
Red= 80’s, 90’s & 00’s throwbacks
Green= Top 40’s & crowd favorites

You can flip between stations and adjust the volume to your liking. I must admit the idea of it is really cool. I’ve found myself standing around in the club too many times because I didn’t like the music that was playing. You literally have control over what you want to hear! I was dancing all night long. And when you want to talk to someone, all you do is remove the headphones or turn down the volume. No more yelling at the top of your lungs!

I had a great time but one thing that I didnt like was waiting in line for nearly thirty minutes. The time on the reservation stated 10pm however the doors didn’t open until 11 o’clock. There was obviously some communication issue going on. Other than that, I enjoyed my time in the city.

Tell me what you think? Would you, or have you visited either of these places? Thoughts?
