Brunch + Wine Tasting = The Perfect Weekend

Hey Love Bugs!

Hope you are enjoying this beautiful weekend! I know I am! Is the weather not gorgeous? My best friend turned 25 so we celebrated Saturday with brunch and a wine tasting and chocolate pairing courtesy of Blue Mountain Vineyard!

We had brunch at this really cute eatery in the University City section of Philadelphia called, White Dog Café. If you blink you could almost miss it, but those are the best spots!

For my meal, I tried the Kennett Square Omelet with home fried potatoes and greens. My meal was ok. I wasn’t really a fan of the omelet. I was more into my mimosa! It wouldn’t really be considered brunch otherwise!

Next stop, Reading Terminal Market. If you are a Philadelphia resident, you’ve at least visited the Terminal once in your travelings. It is a smorgasbord of different eats, treats or whatever else you stumble across. It also houses one of Blue Mountain’s wine cellars.

We sampled five wines of varied flavors and five chocolates that best accompanied each wine. My favorite wine was Bri’s Blush paired with a raspberry dark chocolate. The wine was light, sweet and smooth and the chocolate accompanied it really well.

This is a great idea for a girl’s day out. Not only can you drink wine and eat chocolate, guilt free, the wine glasses are yours as a keepsake! So raise your glass, swirl it around all fancy like they do in the movies and take a sip!

Do you have any go to spots for brunch? Have you ever done a wine tasting?

Cheers,

The College Grad
